We now have a strong golfing community that is strengthened by the interest of student golfers from the following Primary and Secondary schools. For this, the National Golf Association of Fiji (NGAF) and Vodafone our sponsors are proud of the parental support. Schools: Swami Shraddanand Primary, Suva Muslim, International School (Nadi and Suva), Suva Primary, Holy Trinity, Yat Sen, Dudley, Stella Maris, Mount St Mary, Andrews Primary, Nadi Airport Primary, Namaka Public, Lautoka Central, Xavier College, Pac Harbour International, Lomary and Deuba Christain School. We have three instructors going out to the schools each Wednesday and Friday. On Saturdays, there is an open invitation to students that are pursuing their golfing interests further to join either of the two sessions at Yat Sen Secondary. Parents are also invited to participate. The Saturday session has a fee of $5 per player that pays for the instructors. The 8:30am is fully subscribed by existing players, however the 12:00pm session is still open to the new parents that are joining in with their children. As much as we will try to reach into other schools we are also mindful of consolidating our attendance to the schools we are currently in. School Student Numbers We now have school students in Suva that are taking up the sport on a weekly basis. The National Golf is proud to have put through over 10,000 children through the Primary and Secondary schools golf over the last two and a half years. The outcome of this exercise is the strong field of junior golfers that will make up the numbers for the Fiji Men and Women’s golf teams over the next 2 years.
